Virtual Summer Camps
We will be holding three camps this Summer. All camps will be held from 1:00pm to 3:30pm Monday - Friday. Camps will be instructed and supervised by National Expert John Hendrick.
June 8-12: Suitable for beginner and intermediate players
June 22-26: Suitable for beginner and intermediate players
July 6-10: Suitable for intermediate and advanced players
Format: We will start by learning chess on Zoom using lichess.org to analyze and play chess - please create a free account on lichess.org for your child for these camps. Students will be able to watch me play while I explain my moves, and we will also solve chess puzzles suitable to the level for each student. We will have a couple of 10-15 minute breaks on www.gonoodle.com in between chess games and puzzles. This is an engaging and education website that was endorsed to me by my wife who is a special education teacher. At the end of every class, students will participate in an online tournament on lichess.org. I will supervise these games and encourage good manners and polite behavior.
Registration: Please email me your child's name, age and grade they will be going into this Fall, and parent/guardian phone number. Feel free to add any special notes about your child's learning style or any special needs. Please create a free account on lichess.org. I will email you the Zoom ID and password prior to each camp.
You may try out this virtual camp at no charge for one day to see if it is a good fit for you and your child. Payment is due by the end of the second day for each camp. The price will be $190 for the week - 15% sibling discounts are offered.
Please contact me at for online payment options such as Zelle, Chase QuickPay, PayPal or Venmo or if you have any other questions regarding these camps.
