Today I am writing to let you all know about some exciting resources and social gatherings and chess meetups in Katy.
If you don't already know about the casual meetups every other Tuesday in Katy, then please check out the Checkmates Chess Club! They meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The address is 22765 Westheimer Pkwy, Katy 77450 (opposite the Monty Ballard YMCA). Bring your chess sets and get ready for some fun!
Please also check out Katy Social Chess in the Park! I have yet to visit this club, but they meet on Saturday mornings at Barn Park, and looks like it's a ton of fun and a great place for beginners to learn chess as well.
