Course Title: Chess Basics and Beyond: 2nd Grade & Up Edition Duration: January 17 to May 8 (No class during Spring Break week) Class Schedule: Every Wednesday, 5:05 pm to 6:05 pm Lead Coach: Elena Stuckert Designed For: Students from 2nd Grade & Up Description: Set sail on a chess learning adventure with "Chess Basics and Beyond," under the guidance of Coach Elena Stuckert. From January 17 to May 8, every Wednesday between 5:20 pm and 6:20 pm, students from 2nd grade and up are invited to a unique and engaging chess journey. Coach Elena Stuckert enriches the course with her innovative teaching style, combining interactive activities and customized journals to enhance the learning experience. These methods not only teach the game but also make learning an immersive and enjoyable adventure. The journals especially are a key feature, allowing students to document their growth, strategize, and express their understanding of the game creatively. The curriculum includes: - Chessboard Mastery: Understanding the chessboard, piece movements, and basic rules. - Tactical and Strategic Play:*Introduction to opening moves, middle-game tactics, and endgame strategies. - Problem-Solving Through Puzzles: Engaging with chess puzzles to reinforce learning. - Hands-on Engagement: Active participation in games and interactive exercises for a deeper understanding. Ideal for beginners and those looking to enhance their chess knowledge, this course caters to a diverse range of young learners.
